MXene (Ti3C2Tx)

MXenes are 2D carbides and nitrides of a transition metal, with the most widely studied being Ti3C2Tx .The attractiveness of MXenes over graphene for the development of freestanding electrodes is attributed to the surface charge on Ti3C2Tx which contributes to its hydrophilicity.  This facilitates more versatile and environmentally friendly fabrication routes. Moreover, its high intrinsic electrical conductivity, large lateral aspect ratio and accessible surface sites.
